Undergraduate students
We are extremely selective in choosing our
undergraduate researchers. We have more than 200 students
applied in the past 5 years and fewer than 3 students
would be taken in each year -- we do not admit seniors
and rarely take juniors -- so if you want to join
our group, the best time is in your sophomore year.
All undergraduate researchers in my group are expected
to complete research theses and pursue Honors degrees.
Our historical data indicates that about one third
of our undergraduate students have graduated with
authorships on at least 1 paper (conference or peer-reviewed).
About half of our undergraduate students stayed on
for a one-year, professional M.Eng degree. Most of
our undergradaute students continued their postgraduate
studies in prestigious medical schools (including
Harvard, Cornell, Tufts, Einstein, Duke, etc.) or
top graduate schools (including Caltech, Cornell,
etc.). A few of them who decided to work in the real
world landed jobs in consulting and other companies.
